Ready to reach out? Email us at brilliant bengal at gmail dot com Please tell us a little about your household and why you are interested in a bengal. We accept phone calls by appointment.
General Questions: Please understand that we receive many daily inquiries, most of which are not serious. We prioritize emails with substantive content, from people who we perceive to be serious about adoption. Emails stating “Price?” are generally not returned.
Qualifications: Adopters must demonstrate their ability to afford ownership, to provide a suitable home, and embrace bengal antics. Bengals do best with regular interaction and on a meat based diet (not kibble.)
Re-homing fees: Most pet kittens are $900-1500; rescues/ retired adults are less. Fees are subject to change except when solidified via a deposit and contract.
Pricing Structure: Our adoption fees help offset our actual expenses. Breeding is a very expensive hobby. Our expenses include human grade meat, food supplements, spays and neuters, shots, vet exams, prescription flea prevention, occasional medications, cat shows and associated travel expenses, registration costs, cat toys, breeding cats, and donations to rescue/ animal welfare groups.
Deposits: Approved adopters who have successfully interviewed may reserve a kitten for a $300 deposit, which is applied to re-homing fee. Deposits are NONREFUNDABLE except in the event that Brilliantbengal cancels the adoption.
Shipping/Delivery: We personally deliver kittens within a reasonable distance free of charge. Non-local adopters may travel to Central Virginia to collect their new pet, meet us at an East Coast cat show, or arrange a pet travel nanny to serve as your representative and collect the cat. We are sometimes able to meet clients “half-way”.
International Adoptions: Sorry, no international adoptions at this time.
Cattery Visits: We do not offer “tours”. Newborn, pre-vaccination kittens are susceptible to parasites and disease and lets face it, who likes to receive strangers in their house? Prospective adopters are welcome to “see” our facilities via photos or videos and to meet us in person at a cat show. We will arrange visits with approved adopters who have placed a deposit. Such visits are typically limited to specific kittens for sanitation reasons.
Breeding Rights: Please contact us if you seek a breeding animal. Our website content applies only to pet adoptions. All our breeders are TICA registered. Some are dual registered with CFA. We currently show only with TICA and all titles refer to TICA.
Ongoing support: We are happy to field occasional questions from adopters. However, we have full time jobs and we cannot provide ongoing support throughout an animal’s life. We have priced our kittens accordingly. Adopters are expected to purchase pet insurance and to seek out professional help for pets as required. Adopters desiring extensive support are encouraged to identify a professional or stay-at-home breeder; we can provider referrals to such breeders.
